The 2014 Singapore Open was held at the beautiful, newly resurfaced, East Coast PA track in Singapore. Some 60 entries in three different classes battled for the prestigious wins. XRAY was represented by Asian and a couple of European team drivers.

In 1/10 it was Singaporean Nicholas Lee who managed to TQ with his NT1 2014 car, just in front of myself on 2nd place. We both were a lot faster than the competition and it looked like we would battle it out for the win on Sunday. Unfortunately, Nicholas hit mechanical problems in his semifinal and did not advance. I had better luck and managed to win the Semi B to take the pole position for the main final.

In the final, my car and engine worked perfectly as I was able to cruise away in a strong 5 lap lead which lasted until the very last minute where my engine flamed out. I had already built up such a big lead that I still won the race with a 3 lap margin. I was delighted to take the win in this difficult race. The new NT1 2014 proved to be very quick especially in the long final.

In 1/8, it was Italian XRAY driver Carmine Raiola who took a dominant TQ position on Saturday, with a 7 second margin to the 2nd placed driver. Carmine continued his strong performance to win the semifinal, awarding himself the pole position for the final. Unfortunately, he hit problems already at the start of the final which set him back in the field. His bad luck continued with engine problems mid-way through the final. His pace was quick enough to allow him to climb back to 3rd position overall, showing the performance of the XRAY RX8 2014 car.
